Back at the fabulous Union League Club for lunch at the very first Rotary Club in history.
Lunch was great as was expected, a poached salmon with a with a wild rice stuffing was wonderful. Desert was a perfect
strawberry short cake. PRIMO!!
Let me say that meeting with the Board and hearing about the outstanding programs and projects that are underway
was a pleasure.
I can see the excitement in President Dave"s eyes and realize that his membership goal is a net 54 gain this year. WOW!
Job 1, Alliance for Smiles, Rotoract and a ton more programs and projects makes this yet another great Club.
As I took the podium I realized that at some point in time every Rotary International President stood here to address the
Rotary Club of Chicago, and here I am. I would be standing in their foot prints and I couldn't get that out of my mind and still can't. How cool is this I thought.
Guest included: Council General Sung Hwan, PDG Dick Galitz, PDG Gayle Knupper D6010 Anchorage Alaska,
DGE Sharon Wherry D5650 Lincoln Nebraska, DGE Mike Slevnik.
Installation of new member Dwight Nawls and the presentation of 2 Paul Harris Fellows to Mark Shure and Andie Thomalla made my presentation a pleasure.
This is a great club that is extremely important to this District and to this Governor.
