MEMORIES MISSED but RECOVERED

Aug 4 [should have been July 31]

As this busy Rotary year gets off to an amazing start I keep a log by date and sometimes the log gets something set on top
of something else [you should see my Rotary office] and it gets out of sync. And so it happened last week--so to recover--

The Blue Island - Crestwood visit was on July 31st and was an unexpectedly exciting visit.
The lunch menu had a few choices, I had a salad and iced tea, it was OK.
The meeting with the board was GREAT, this club has had a continual problem with growth and I think they have found out why.
Good leadership and a chain of command that works together is the key to solving problems.
Soon, the Rotary Club of Blue Island - Crestwood will be meeting at the Double Tree Hotel. YES! YES! YES!
What a great change for this 70 year old Club, they will be proud to invite programs to the meetings again and I believe
that this Club will have a reason for people to WANT to join.
I am very proud of this Club, they made a tough decision and have decided to move forward. Remember:

If you always do, what you've always done
You will always get what you always got.

Still on the same day:
The next meeting was with Easter seals, DGE, DGN and The Rotary Clubs of Area 4.
After some confusion as to the meeting place we all came together and had "brain storming" session as to what this group
of clubs could do together to be a major supporter of Easter Seals.
After about 2.5 hours the group decided that a car raffle would be a great kick of to this major project with the prize
drawing shortly after Thanksgiving. Details to follow.
It amazes me how the Clubs are getting on board with Easter Seals!
I am also very pleased to inform you the DGN Jim Czerwoinka will continue to support Easter seals in 09/10/.
